i never thought the day would come...

When I'd let my kid eat a hot dog and/or watch Barney. Yet he has done both in the past 24 hours. Kudos to me!

I'd like to take this time to publicly thank Costco and PBS/KCET for making these acts possible. I wouldn't have done it without you.

  1. I am not a fan of hot dogs either, because of how unhealthy they are. And didn't want my kids to eat them , but they eat them so well. It is hard to know what to do.
As for Barney, hmmm. I don't think I could go there. Actually I have been trying to cut the amount of tv watching. It is just too easy to put my kids in front of so I can get something done.

  2. Ha ha! Just so you know, that dog is a turkey dog. Never eat anything else. Well, congrats on the accomplishment!

  3. I always loved hot dogs! I know you never have though. As for Barney, I let Kory watch it when he was little but usually had I had to leave the room!

  5. Glad to have some more company! We lose interest in Barney, but apparently Calliou is hypnotizing.

  6. If there is one thing I have learned over the last nearly nine years of being a parent it is that whatever you say you will never let your children do/eat/whatever usually ends up going out the window! Phil and I used to say that we would never allow our kids to sleep in our bed....well after three little girls who rarely sleep at all, we are simply thrilled to have them all asleep ANYWHERE!!!! Even if it means Phil has to go sleep in his chair so me and the girls can have more room in the bed. Don't worry, there are much worse things your child can eat then a hotdog and much worse things he can watch then "Barney"! Good Luck.
p.s. sounds like you are a great mother to me!

  7. Oh, come on! Neither hotdogs nor Barney are all that bad. Gosh, hotdogs are American! And Barney, well, he's free babysitting! :)

  8. YEAH! Those are some of the best childhood moments...eating a hot dog without knowing what it is! Let him enjoy it while it lasts...hopefully you can still get some fruits and veggies in there too.

  9. Costco dogs are all-beef; they're good and probably good for you (hehe).

Anyway, I'm tagging you, in case you wanted to play. :)

  12. Haha! You are such a nut! I LOVE hotdogs! AND yes - I love Barney too. =) I can't believe I just admitted! I do like the old Barney's better though - there are WAY to many dinosaurs in the new ones. =) It looks like you've been having fun! I'm excited to hear your "new developments"! See ya!
